Blane A. Sessions, M.D. brings his passion and interest in clinical medicine, research, and education to The Philadelphia Hand Center. He sincerely enjoys interacting and meeting interesting patients; carefully diagnosing conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow; and treating patients like family to ensure they resume a better quality of life.
Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Sessions attended and graduated Magna Cum Laude with honors from Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he played Division I baseball. After college, he earned his medical degree and completed his post graduate training in Orthopedic Surgery at LouisianaStateUniversityHealthSciencesCenter in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dr. Sessions was honored to be selected for further subspecialty training with The Philadelphia Hand Center/Thomas Jefferson Hand Fellowship Program where he focused on hand, wrist and elbow conditions in both adults and children.
Dr. Sessions credits his love and passion for hand surgery to his mentor, Dr. Harold M. Stokes,M.D. with whom he had the privilege of training under during his residency at LSUHSC-New Orleans, and to the guidance of Dr. A. Lee Osterman, M.D. with whom he trained during his Fellowship at The Philadelphia Hand Center. Both instilled values of compassion and providing comprehensive upper extremity care to individuals of all ages.
Dr. Sessions is proud to be part of The Philadelphia Hand Center’s strong affiliation with the Crozer-Keystone Health System and has faculty appointments at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Delaware County Memorial Hospital, SpringfieldHospital and TaylorHospital. He currently has office hours in Havertown, Brinton Lake/Glen Mills, Upland, and Center City Philadelphia.
