Healthplex and USTA to Host a Junior Tennis Open House on September 10

The Healthplex Sports Club in conjunction with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) is thrilled to announce it will be hosting a free Junior Tennis Open House and Play Day. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 12 noon until 3 p.m. at the Healthplex Sports Club, 194 West Sproul Road, Springfield.

This free event is for junior players’ ages 4 to 18 years of age from beginner to advance. The goal of this event is to expose children living in the Springfield, Media, Swarthmore and Wallingford area to the wonders of tennis.

“When your child learns to play tennis, you have given them a gift that they can use for the rest of their life,” says Doug Lewis, USPTA Healthplex tennis director. Jarrod Grant, the Healthplex head tennis professional, comments that, “This is a great opportunity to teach the fundamentals of tennis to young people.”

The Healthplex Sports Club has 10 indoor tennis courts and set up stations for each level and age using the latest equipment. Developmental level stations will be set up for players six years old and under, eight years old and under; and ten years older and under. Beginners are encouraged to sign-up. There will also be stations set aside for 12 years of age and under and also for teens and tournament training.
